Apple Touchscreen MacBook Pro Launched With Tandem OLED Display and M5 Pro, M5 Max Chips
Apple Touchscreen MacBook Pro: Features, Specifications, Prices and Availability
Apple has officially introduced its first MacBook Pro with a touchscreen, bringing touch-based interaction to the Mac for the first time. Announced on October 28, 2026, the new MacBook Pro features a tandem OLED display marketed as PROLED XDR, Apple’s M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, up to 128GB of unified memory and up to 16TB of storage. The laptop will be available in 14-inch and 16-inch variants, with pre-orders opening across international markets from October 28 onwards.
The biggest change is the introduction of touchscreen functionality. Users can scroll through webpages, pinch to zoom into photographs, drag and drop presentation slides, and double-tap windows to expand them. The touch sensor is integrated directly into the display panel to reduce input latency. Apple has also introduced touch-based creative workflows, allowing graphic designers to draw directly on the screen, musicians to play software instruments and developers to test touch functionality in their iOS and iPadOS applications.

The new PROLED XDR display uses tandem OLED technology with two self-illuminating pixel layers. Apple claims peak HDR and SDR brightness of up to 2,000 nits, a contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1 and a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The display supports both P3 and Adobe RGB colour gamuts. An optional nano-texture finish is available to reduce reflections and glare, making the screen suitable for professional photography, video editing and colour grading.
For performance, Apple is offering M5 Pro and M5 Max processors. The laptop supports up to 128GB of unified memory and up to 16TB of SSD storage. It runs macOS 27 with Apple Intelligence and Siri AI. The new Dynamic Island also arrives on Mac, providing access to Spotlight search, Live Activities and Siri. Users can interact with notifications, control music, answer calls and access real-time updates through this interface.

Battery life is rated at up to 24 hours, according to Apple. The new models weigh approximately three pounds for the 14-inch version and four pounds for the 16-inch version. Audio is handled by an upgraded six-speaker system that Apple says delivers 50 per cent deeper bass. Other hardware features include a 12MP Center Stage camera, studio-quality microphones and Thunderbolt 5 connectivity. Apple has also confirmed compatibility with applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Notion, Canva, Zoom, Adobe Lightroom, DaVinci Resolve, Blender and Cinema 4D.
