Construction platform Spotable raises €4 million to digitise the building supply chain worldwide
Ghent scaleup Spotable started out eighteen months ago with software for small roofing companies. Today it sells its technology to contractors, distributors and international building material manufacturers, and raises €4 million in seed funding to continue its growth in Europe and the United States.
A roofer loses eight hours per project on average to manual measuring and quoting. Many quotes are still made in Excel, and producing one means a tradesman has to visit every new site in person, with no guarantee he’ll land the job.
“Software for roofers wasn’t exactly the obvious foundation for an international technology company eighteen months ago,” says Sebastien Vandendriessche, co-founder and CEO of Spotable. “That’s precisely where we saw an opportunity: giving contractors technology that’s fast, reliable and easy to use. No more paperwork, just real results.”
From Roof To Supply Chain
Spotable started at Ghent’s Wintercircus with a simple idea: a roofer enters an address, and the software digitally measures the building, renders it in 3D and helps put together a quote. The platform has since grown into a solution for the entire commercial chain around a building.
Spotable still starts from an address, building and measuring the structure digitally using geographic data and artificial intelligence. But it no longer stops there. The software now calculates quantities, links materials and prices, generates quotes and brings the order itself within reach. That creates a connection between three parties that today still tend to operate apart: the contractor, the distributor and the manufacturer. Contractors calculate and quote faster, distributors integrate their range and pricing, and manufacturers get their products directly into the tradesman’s decision-making process.
Spotable Reaches 10 Million Square Metres of Roofing
Founders Sebastien Vandendriessche (CEO), Julie Dumoulin (CRO) and Pieter-Jan Philips (CTO) laid the foundation for Spotable in September 2024, while still students. Three months later, they launched the first version of the platform. Exactly a year ago, they went live commercially with the software. The team now counts 30 employees, has helped renovate more than 10 million square metres of roofing, and grew to 350 customers within the year.

Spotable Going global
To fuel its growth, Spotable is now raising €4 million in seed funding, in a round arranged by investment broker The Harbour. Investors include Jonas Dhaenens of team.blue, Christophe Morbee of NewSchool.vc and the family office of Hilde Cloostermans and Philip Corens. Arne Vandendriessche, former CEO of Signpost and recently appointed CEO of Get Driven, is also joining.
With the funding, Spotable wants to build out the product further and speed up its international expansion. While many European tech companies chase growth in classic software markets such as HR, finance or sales, Spotable deliberately targets a more traditional economy. Belgium proved the ideal test market, with thousands of small and medium-sized construction companies alongside major distributors and internationally active building material manufacturers.
In Europe, after Belgium and the Netherlands, the scaleup is setting its sights firmly on larger construction markets like France and Germany, where it wants to onboard more construction companies and forge partnerships with major distributors and manufacturers. At the same time, Spotable is already making its move into the United States.
“The American roofing market is many times bigger than the Belgian one, and it already has strong, specialised software players. Spotable has already tested its technology at trade fairs there and built its first commercial presence. We don’t want to spend ten years building in Belgium first and only then take a cautious look at America. If this can become a global company, we want to find that out today,” concludes Julie Dumoulin, co-founder and CRO at Spotable.
